Iranian short animation ‘Crab’ has been selected to vie at the International Short and Independent Film Festival Dhaka (ISIFF) in Bangladesh.

Iranian short animation ‘Crab’ has been selected to vie at the International Short and Independent Film Festival Dhaka (ISIFF) in Bangladesh.

Directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, the short animation will represent Iran at the 16th edition of the event.

The 11-minute animation narrates the story of a reserved and isolated schoolboy who is a theater enthusiast.

Regardless of his emotional situation, he wishes to play a role in the theater group of his school.

But the only part offered to him is the role of a crab.

The animation has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Ottawa International Animation Fest in Canada, the Countryside Animafest Cyprus film festival, and the Shanghai International filmfest in China.

Launched in 1988, the ISIFF is one of the oldest festivals in Bangladesh.

Films from 130 countries are participating in the festival.

The 16th edition of the event is being held on February 25-March 4.
